Calne Town Centre Proposed Plans - Results from the Meeting
All about  the public invitation to the next Town Council Development and Planning Committee in the Town Hall on Wed 14th November at 6pm to express their views on
the Churchill plans and our alternative plans.

Results from the Meeting

At last evenings Town Council Development & Planning Committee, which was extremely well supported by the public, the Churchill planning application was unanimously rejected by the committee. The results of the  findings of the recent survey were presented by Malcolm Gull from "Calne Our Place", which are downloadable below as Powerpoint  and PDF files.

The next stage will be when Churchill try to get the planning application rejection overturned by the North Wilts planning committee. At this stage, the arguments will be based on planning law rather than just emotive issues although both elements of the argument were voiced by Councilors and the public at the meeting.  In preparation for this stage, the Town Council have engaged a planning consultant who has drawn up the necessary arguments (the draft of which is downloadable below as a PDF document).
Public attendance is encouraged at this next stage so we will publish the date and venue on this site as soon as it is announced.

See our Provisional Plans and comment HERE.

The Town Councils Development and Planning committee meets regularly to consider matters of Planning Applications and Development issues in the town.

At the last Committee Meeting Sam presented our interim plans and fielded questions from the Committee.

The Committee is very interested to know the public's view on the Churchill Plans and our Alternative Plans, and to that end the Council distributed the recent pamphlet to inform Calne residents and to provide ways for them to comment.

Although all Committee meetings are open to the public, the Committee  particularly requested residents to come to this meeting to express their views.
